Game day? Yes, I've been prepping for this day as if it's game day! Today I'll have my final reconstruction surgery! Whoo hoo! To say I'm excited is a major understatement! (I'm so ready to have these abnormal feeling, hard and uncomfortable, restricting expanders replaced! I know they are called temporary expanders, but it has been since September and I'm so ready for them to go! Can you tell I'm a bit excited?
Even though at times I can hardly believe that this whole ordeal has taken over a year, there are times it seems as though it's passed by in a flash. Part of my prep time for this surgery has been to reflect . . . on how good God has been to me . . . how He has sustained me and strengthened me with His Presence every day . . . how He has grown my faith over these months. I can't imagine what it might have been like to face this without Him. He has been faithful to renew my Hope each every step of this journey. My heart is overflowing with gratitude and thanksgiving for the relationship I have with Him . . . so in awe that He steps beyond religion and makes the way for me (for all of us) to KNOW HIM and experience His forgiveness and love in very real and tangible ways. That way is Jesus. I gave my life to Him over 40 years ago as a fumbling college freshman and have never looked back!
In earlier posts, I've shared how God has encouraged me with themes throughout this journey, another theme is this . . . my "Hope has a name . . . His Name is Jesus". That's actually the title to a song . . . one I first heard at my church, River Valley Church. I'm actually listening to this song, by that name performed by River Valley worship as I'm typing today! I have listened to it nearly every day since I first heard it. It speaks so loudly and clearly where my Hope comes from! I want to share that same Hope with you! Enjoy the song!
Okay, time is ticking away on me this morning and I have to take one more shower before my surgery! The card I'm sharing is one made by team mate, Betty Peterson. It's one I was privileged to receive in our team swap this month. Betty used the Eastern Palace Bundle (plus three of the NEW Faceted Gems) on her beautiful creation!
